A small company building one product properly
Golden Porch is an independent software company. We build a CRM, we do not build anything else, and we have no plans to become a platform for everything.
Why we started
Everyone who has worked in or near a sales team has watched the same thing happen. A CRM is chosen carefully, configured enthusiastically, and used properly for about two months. Then the data goes stale, the pipeline stops matching what people actually believe, and the real forecast quietly moves into a spreadsheet.
The usual explanation is that the team lacked discipline. We think that is mostly wrong. What usually happened is that keeping the system accurate cost more effort than the system returned, and people responded rationally.
So the product decisions here bend consistently in one direction: reduce what a person has to type, capture what can be captured automatically, and be honest on screen about what is missing rather than presenting a confident number built on gaps.
How we work
We are deliberately small, and we would rather grow slowly than take on obligations that change what we build. That has a few consequences worth stating plainly:
- We say no to features often. A CRM that does everything does most of it badly.
- We tell you when we are not a fit. A customer who churns in four months costs both of us more than a deal we did not take.
- Your data stays portable. Export is free on every plan. Lock-in is not a retention strategy we are interested in.
- We do not sell data. Not aggregated, not anonymised, not to anyone.
What we are not
We are not a marketing automation platform, a helpdesk, or a phone system. We connect to those, and we think the teams that run good tooling generally run a few focused tools rather than one that claims to cover everything.
If you are evaluating us against a larger vendor, the honest summary is this: they will have more features, more integrations and more people. We will have a smaller surface area, faster answers when you email, and a stronger opinion about how a pipeline should work. Which of those matters more depends entirely on your team.
Getting in touch
Email reaches us at [email protected]. There is no contact form and no chat widget — messages go to a mailbox people read, and you will get a reply from a person rather than a sequence.
